LGBTQ---Being a member of the community with you.

Relational, solution focused, somatic, cognitive-cultural approaches

Welcome!  I have been a therapist in our community through  a few decades of change--heard and helped many. I have learned from them all. The LGBTQ population is diverse, alive, changing and thriving.  It took along time.  Evolution from before stonewall and after has brought us  to where/how we now live.  We as individuals and collectively have unique characteristics we call our own.

Areas of Specialization:  For Individuals Accross the Lifespan

Relationships     Addiction    Effects of social media   Making friends

Marginilization     Mood/Anxiety      Lonliness      Aging   Thriving

Coupling/manogomy or not                Queer identity and Labels

Labels and what we call ourselves has shifted and currently "QUEER" is the umbrella term.  For some it fits for others they wish not to be under that term (for many reasons) but sit with a more singular identirty: Gay, Lesbian etc..within the community and culture.  So however you call youself, I am available. With your attributes and abilities, so much can happen.   And bringing our sense of humor often softens and lightens the experience of therapy.

People seek therapy for the specific needs of assimilation, coming out, chilhood trauma, feeling margnilized within their own community, parenting, coupling, hook ups and sexuality,   I hear often that people get weary from online dating and wish they could meet someone and "fall in love."

Partnerships and monogomy or or not,  also come up a lot.  Further concerns are around  how social media defines us, faects connections or lack of and the difference between social media friends and developing more intimate friendships.

Loss of friendships and grief is still alive and revisits us,  from time to time, over the "AIDS YEARS" where lots of trauma occured, repeatedly

Growing older and fitting in is  a very real phenomenon/adjustment, and I think it is cool when I pass by Twin Peaks and there are now multi ages connecting in what was once referred to as "the glass coffin."  A new vibe!

There is so much going on within our community--some overt and some covert, lurking in the background.   There is an undercurrent of fear. Our rights are somewhat under threat.   I am right here with you and for you.
